A day at Safari Eco Park- Chaguaramas

Trinidad Hidden Parks! Safari Eco Park -Chaguaramas

I've lived in Trinidad all my life and i didn't know we had Zebras, Llamas, Kangaroos and a Cougar in this island, well at least not in the Emperor Valley Zoo which is the national primary facility that houses such an array of animals for public viewing.  Nonetheless, like most Trini's, I heard from a friend about this place in Chaguaramas,Tucker Valley Road called the Safari Eco Park  and decided to check it out, because these people barely advertise their offerings. This park is on 40 acres of land, where the animals are enclosed in different stables/pens. Anyway, below I've captured some of the most exciting parts of my visit and share this phenomenal experience with ya'll—  hope you enjoy.

On my way there with my friends we got lost! Because there wasn't much signage, so here are the proper directions to get to the park —https://goo.gl/maps/v3sMbHwvzoH2     Also, if your a local don't wash your car before coming to the park, as the road is not your typical asphalt type road, so yeah- trust me; you'll regret washing your car before coming here! Wash it after! 😦

As i arrived, this was not what i thought it was! Patrons could have actually interacted with the animals, unlike the Emperor valley Zoo that only allows you to feed the  Giraffes once its their feeding time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the door, you can purchase a feeding cup to feed these awesome animals. Yea! these guys are eating healthier diets than most of us! Take ah look!!!!!!

On my way inside, the first animal i met was 'Jack',an adolescent male, red kangaroo who gives the BEST HUGS!!!!!!! 😘                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Fun Fact!
Female kangaroos can determine the sex of their offspring. They can even delay gestation when environmental factors are likely to diminish the chance of young surviving.

Further inwards I stumbled upon this beauty, who just happened to be a male camel. Guys! Meet Aladdin who as he saw me coming started to blush 😋! perhaps because i had a fruit cup! Nonetheless I gave him sum and he still fell in love with my cousin
Rebecca.

Did You Know! Contrary to popular belief, the camel’s humps are not full of water. Instead, these odd protrusions are mounds of fat which allows the gangly beast to travel days through the desert without stopping for a bite to eat!

Further in the park I met Melina! Finally some sort of female animal species! Melina is a Llama who is full of life and smiles all around! Conclusively, Melina is the parks competitive advantage, because once you meet her.... whether your from Australia or Canada, your wanna come and meet her again! She's full of love and character! Simply put it! She's adorable and super cute and her coat is incredibly soft as you pet her!

Llamas are very intelligent, but stubborn animals. When the load on its back is too heavy, llama will refuse to carry it until some of the load is removed

Anyway, this visit was phenomenal and highly recommended (Disclaimer: I don't work for the park). Below are some more pics and details of the park and its pricing and general info, as well as links to their social pages.

All in all, this is the latest animal attraction in Trinidad, and features different types of animals in a petting zoo format. Located in Chaguaramas it is quickly becoming a favorite with children of all ages.
